Welcome to the homepage of my underwater ROV project. Its tentative name for now is L.E.V. Shallow Dive 1 (Lake Exploratory Vehicle). I got the original concept for this from XKCD.
Design Requirements:
- Depth: 60 feet (due to depth limit of stock bilge pumps)
- Thrust: Forward, reverse, up, down, turn left, turn right.
- Payload: Underwater/pressurized camera system and flood lights.
- Cost: $200-$300
I’ve debated whether or not to attempt to add a functional ballast system or not. I believe for this first iteration I’m just going to aim for slightly positively buoyant.
